Lot Description

Pair of framed needlework pockets and pair of needlework samplers england, circa 1825

Each pocket worked with potted flowers, birds and stylized bowls of fruit and the inscription "Though absent ever dear," in polychrome silk threads on gauze ground edged in silk ribbon; together with two small samplers, one inscribed, "Jane Shepherd 1837," both worked with spot motifs in polychrome silk threads on linen ground, framed.
