Lot Description
Circular form, the cover inset with a fine oval enamel miniature of classical figures with a cornucopia, a dog is seated between them, surrounded with a rose gold border with yellow and green gold bows, husks and laurel branches, within engraved borders,and chevron engraved rose gold edge, the sides with engraved panels enclosing yellow, rose and green gold floral swags, the underside similarly decorated to the lid, but centered by a rose gold urn issuing flowers and leaves, unscrews to reveal a shallow compartment, underside of cover with small charge mark for Paris 1762-68, maison commune mark crowned B for 1765, and maker's mark AD clearly struck to underside of lid, interior with charge mark and commune mark, maker's mark indistinct.
