Lot Description

Federal inlaid mahogany tall case clock aaron willard (1757-1844), boston, ma, last quarter of the 18th century

Arched cresting with fretwork and three brass ball and spire finials on fluted plinths, line inlaid arched face door flanked by brass stop fluted columnettes, white painted metal face with moon-phase movement, black enamel Roman numeral chapter ring with black Arabic numeral outer minute ring and subsidiary seconds ring above post, inscribed, "Aaron Willard-Boston" below the post, rectangular lip molded, line and fan inlaid corner waist door flanked by brass stop fluted quarter round corners, plinth with conforming inlay, on ogival bracket feet.
