Lot Description

Sioux quilled breastplate and two pairs beaded and quill ceremonial moccasins fort yates, north dakota, first half 20th century

The breast plate worked with red, green, purple and yellow in stepped geometric design with orange dyed feathers and beaded bell fringe ornamented with shells; the moccasins with beaded bands and split tongues, quill-worked uppers; together with two quilled and beaded hair ornaments, each of cylindrical form with quilled, tin cone and dyed horse hair danglers.
