4to, contemp full crimson morocco, gilt, a.e.g.; front cover detached but present, spine rubbed at ends & starting to detach. With 48 hand-colored aquatint plates; light to moderate offsetting on text. Some dampstaining to top third of back endpaper & blanks, some dampwrinkling to top third of Christ's Hospital text & plates, light foxing to verso of frontis. Leaf size, 341 x 267mm. Bookplates of Horatio N. Pym & A. Edward Newton (the colored hobby rider) on front paste-down.
