Roosevelt, Franklin D. Typed letter signed.
The White House, Aug 13, 1942. 2pp, 4to; horizontal creasing along old fold lines - not affecting signature. To Joseph H. Bryson, Congressman from South Carolina, asserting the importance of the "WAACS" & "WAVES" & the relation of their role in the war effort to the sacrifices of ordinary citizens. Also faulting Hearst & certain other newspapers for emphasizing the less essential aspects of the war effort, encouraging Bryson to compensate for the effect these papers have on some of his constituents & other citizens.
