Lot Description

Pair of Capodimonte hand-painted and framed porcelain plaques mid-19th century

Each of octagonal outline with figures in relief, one depicting Venus riding a dolphin-led half shell, the other with a partially nude woman (possibly Fame) riding Pegasus, both within an ebonized wood, brass and specimen marble frame, each with blue underglaze "N" under five-prong crown mark to verso.

H: 17 1/2, W: 19, D: 3 1/2 in.
