Lot Description

After Alfred-Emilien, Comte de Nieuwekerke (French, 1811-1892) and Charles Cumberworth (French, 1811-1852) 'la mort de duc de clarence' cast by susse freres

Pewter garniture, the central group cast to depict the death of the Duke of Clarence modelled on a rectangular gothic plinth bearing a French inscription, reading in part, "Death of his Lordship the Duke of Clarence, brother of the English King Henry V, killed at the Battle of Beauge", the two knight figures modelled by Charles Cumberworth, each piece marked with Susse Freres pastille and impressed M.
