Lot Description

Schwenkfelder painted and grain-painted blanket chest with drawers and Schultz family items inscribed, "rosina schultz 1810," montgomery county, pa

Rectangular hinged lid opens to interior with till, the underside of lid with fraktur for Rosina Schultz, worked in ink and watercolor on paper, with four perforated paper Berlin needleworks, the case decorated with shaped panels above two drawers, ogee bracket feet; together with small painted box incised with pinweels, note on interior, "Hand-made by Levi G. Schultz father of Eugene S. Schultz", a woven strawberry basket, a painted and decorated tin document box and a sampler by "Regina K. Schultz 1861" with floral clusters worked in polychrome wool yarns, framed.
