Lot Description

Group of Sioux Beaded hide items fort yates, north dakota area, early 20th century

The first, a "strike-a-light" worked in a geometric pattern in white, red, green, blue and yellow with beaded and tin cone danglers; an awl in a hide sheath and a rectangular buffalo hide bag with beaded ends and flap and tin cone and feather danglers; two pairs of men's mocassins worked in lane-stitch in multicolored geometric patterns; and a beaded belt worked in lane-stitch in multicolored geometric patterns with blue and coral bead and cowrie shell border, hide ties.
