Louis XIV gilt bronze mounted boulle marquetry bracket clock ducoroy, paris, 18th century and later
In two sections: the sarcophagus-shaped top surmounted with figure of strident angel sounding a trumpet, the shaped case of elaborate premiere partie Boulle-style marquetry, the top corners mounted with masks above a trail of garland, circular dial with white enamel plaques cobalt painted with Romans numerals, above a subsidiary glazed door mounted with harp and foliage trophy, opens to pendulum motion, raised on toupie feet, the brass countwheel strike movement engraved "Ducoroy Paris", the clock supported on a shelf with rectangular top above five scroll-shaped supports beginning and terminating in bacchanal-style masks.
