Lot Description

Unusual Japanese iron tetsubin 19th century

Square form, cast as knotty insect eaten wooden logs with wood grain sides, a cicada cast to one edge, signed on one side, the heavy circular bronze cover with serpentine finial, incscribed in Japanese and museum numbers to underside, the parcel-gilt iron handle cast to show a dragon.
