Lot Description

Large and impressive Sevres style porcelain cobalt ground Napoleonic vase late 19th century

The domed cover surmounted by bud finial, the neck decorated in gilt to show an eagle on a laurel branch, the body painted to show the coronation of Napoleon after the painting by David, signed "I Paxault", on the other side to show a French Chateau, on the circular socle with large initial "N" within laurel branches, raised on square bronze base with applied griffons and paterae.
