Lot Description
Important German gilt bronze mounted gilt decorated and hand-painted KPM porcelain tall case clock circa 1895
Surmounted by a pair of putti playing with a cockerel emblematic of dawn, above the gilt circular dial with Roman numerals, above a model of a seated girl and a large figure of Dawn blowing a trumpet, her cloak painted with flowers on one side and stars on the other, flanked by a pair of seated infants, above a painted scene of gardens and palace of Sanssouci, above a gilt bronze trellis and rococo scroll base, on spread gilt bronze mounted socle, the whole painted and modelled in the rococo style, with finely rendered flowers and gilt scrolls on a white ground, several KPM orb and scepter marks, the underside numbered D 3555 A.
