Important ormolu mounted Russian Imperial hand painted gilt decorated porcelain urn russian imperial porcelain factory, st. petersburg, period of nicholas I, circa 1826

Of campana form, the central panel painted with a 17th century interior scene in the Dutch manner, probably depicting Charles II in exile, framed by a gilt acanthine border, flanked by reeded twin handles above a gold ground of volute scrolls modelled in relief and centered by blossoming flowers, raised on socle base and square plinth, with overglaze blue Imperial cypher of Nicholas I and overglaze gilt numerals 1826.zoda.H.2.4.5. to inside of rim.
