Lot Description

Louis XV style marble top gilt bronze mounted kingwood and tulipwood parquetry commode à vantaux circa 1900, after the model by antoine-robert gaudreau

The serpentine variegated rouge marble top over two doors centrally mounted with an oval medallion depicting a classical maiden sat on a lion, the other with a cherub on a ram, surrounded by neoclassical medals, scrolls, and floral garlands, each opening to two drawers, the sides with oval medallions depicting Hercules and Diana, all on trellis parquetry, raised on boldly cast gilt bronze legs headed by ram's masks.
