Lot Description

Tibetan Bronze Avalokitesvara Statue 17th century

The figure standing gracefully in tribhanga posture on a double lotus base; with hands in varada and vitarka mudras. His face slightly lowered in a benign expression. Two utpala plants supporting a single bloom flank the sensitively modeled body. The figure, as becomes a Bodhisattva, is dressed in princley ornaments and garments; adorn with ornamental jewelry and surmounted with a three leaf crown.
