Lot Description

Three French silver wine tasters early 18th century

Including a wine taster with plain circular bowl, the handle engraved with the motto "Vive l'amour et le vin" above a partially nude seated male, Paris, circa 1708-9, maker's mark MV surmounted by a fleur-de-lis, charge mark for 1704-12; a wine taster of plain circular form with ring handle and thumbpiece engraved with a sunburst, the exterior of bowl inscribed "Anne de la Rocque," maker's mark rubbed, possibly IC with crown and other device above and below for Jacques Chambert of Versailles; and a wine taster engraved "I. Rouhier," also with ring handle and plain thumbpiece, maker's mark ?PN or ?RN. (3).
