The first, in blue hues depicting a stork at water's edge with painted and decorated shade with warriors on horseback and a quatrain from Omar Khayyám's (1048-1131) and Edward FitzGerald's (1809-1893) poem The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám; the second, a Royal Doulton flambe vase signed "A. Eaton," in ruby tones depicting a phoenix bird, both on carved gilt wood bases with hand-written inscriptions to undersides: "Designed Nicola d'Ascenzo Carved Frank X. Ferg."
