Clement of Alexandria [Titus Flavnius Clemens]: Omnia Quae Quidem Extant Opera. Florence: Laur. Torrentinus, 1551. Folio, old Flemish blind-stamped calf over wooden bds, the front centered by a panel of Saint Gertrude in an architectural frame, the rear panel a coat of arms of Philip Hosdin, the 20th Abbott of Louvain, dated 1557; spine rebacked, surface cracking, clasps absent. With an engraved title-page. Paste-downs are earlier latin manuscripts. 2 ink stamps and some staining and smudging to title page. Dampstaining to lower 2 inches of gutter & foredge corner of front matter. See lot 477 for a similar binding. * Heidelberg: Typographeio, 1592 ed. in Greek of the preceding title. Folio, vellum; lacking ties. Printer's device on title page. Contemp. manuscript inscriptions on front matter. Moderate staining throughout, including title-page. Wear to page edges.
