Two pairs of Chinese hand-held firescreens for the European market 19th century
The first pair displaying a male to one and a female to the other, each in embroidered attire with painted silk faces further surrounded by birds and with carved ivory handles, the second pair with birds perched upon flowering branches hand-painted on papier-mâché and with turned wood handles. (4).
