Lot Description

Impressive gilt bronze mounted Sevres style porcelain cobalt ground urn late 19th/early 20th century

Mounted to the shoulder with well-cast gilt bronze leafy-scroll handles terminating in female masks, the body painted on one side to show a scene of eighteenth-century figures playing a game of blind man's bluff, the other to show a maiden in a pink robe facing a putto keeping warm over a fire in a wintery landscape, both signed in monogram "AM", above a circular foot with bead edge, raised on a canted square gilt bronze base.

H: 33 1/2 in.
