Fine and unusual Victorian Anglo-Colonial silver seven-piece tea and coffee service samuel smily for goldsmiths alliance ltd., london, circa 1870s

Comprising a hot water kettle on stand, milk pitcher, tea and coffee pot with ivory spacers, an open sugar, creamer, and jug, each profusely decorated with a central band of Hindu deities and mythical beasts in high relief in the Swami style and further accentuated by bands of florals and foliate arabesques, the kettle handle partially fashioned in the form of dragons, all upon four figural busts terminating in lotus blossoms. Each bearing the crest of a griffin's head erased and monogram to reserves. Date letters range from 1868-78. (7).
