George III silver presentation goblet james mince, london, 1801-2

The body with triple band of bright-cut engraved decoration with gilt-washed interior. Engraved family crest of a griffin's head erased emerging from a ducal coronet above a shield with rampant lion, the presentation inscription reading: "The gift of I. Key to Mr. Wm. Plaistowe as a testimony of his respect...in securing W. Seymour who robbed I. Key...10th November 1817 and was convicted..."
