Folio. 13 x 8 inches; 330 x 203mm, orig. marbled wrappers; spine chipped, starting to come loose. 21 ms pp, incl. 13 pp with aprox. 60 entries recording indentures, patents, deeds, and bills of sale for lots in Westmoreland, Washington, Allegheny counties, Pittsburgh, Western Territory, Kentucky & Virginia, dated June 4, 1786 to March 7, 1798. Followed by 8pp of ms plat maps, several for properties near the confluence of the Allegheny & Mongahila rivers into the Ohio River. Minor internal dampstaining.
James O'Hara (1752-1819); American military officer, Captain of early industry, founder of the O'Hara Glass Works Co., the first glass manufactuer west of the Alleghenies. He was also one of the founders of Pittsburgh, recorded above are his real estate aquisitions during the Post-Revolutionary period.
