(Montgomery County 18th-century Manuscript Map.) "Seat for Court /House in County/ of Montgomery/ Draft of County." [Pennsylvania], [c1785]. Folio, 2 leaves, with ms text & map on facing versos. Text describes the suitability of the "Colledge land" [later Norristown] as the new county's seat of justice. Ms map delineates the boundaries of Montgomery county, also showing Philadelphia & the confluence of the Delaware & Schuylkill rivers. All presumably in the hand of Daniel Cunnygham Clymer.
Likely the earliest map of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Map size: 13 x 7 7/8 inches; 330 x 200 mm. Minor spotting, creasing along old folds, old (orig?) ink title [or docket] on recto of first sheet.
