Lot Description

A rare coin silver tea service r. swan, philadelphia, pa, early 19th century

Federal style, of fluted urn form, comprising a hot water pot with classical ball topped urn finial to lid with beaded base and beaded band below, hinged lid surrounded by a pierced gallery, circular fluted urn shaped body engraved with a wreath of leaves raised on circular fluted base mirroring the body, stipple and machine engraved edges, a carved acanthus leaf lyriform pearwood handle, tea pot with identical decoration, having a loose lid, pierced gallery and acanthus leaf carved pearwood lyriform handle, covered sugar bowl with loose lid and pierced gallery, waste bowl with pierced gallery and creamer made by Schofield in the same pattern with loop handle (early 20th century).
