Lot Description

Egyptian revival gilt metal mounted cedar armchair circa 1928

From an original found in the tomb of Tutankamen, the rectangular pierced back carved to show a pharoah, flanked by two columns surmounted by horus figures, the top rail and supports carved to show hieroglyphics, over curved slatted seat, raised on feline legs united by stretchers and with gilt metal struts, raised on paw feet.

H: 35 1/2, W: 19 1/2, D: 20 1/2 in.
