Lot Description

Thomas Campajola (Italian, fl. late 19th/early 20th century) centaur battling a lion

Bronze, dark and mid-brown patina, well cast to show the centaur fighting the lion, the lion with his teeth in the chest of the centaur, on a naturalistic base incorporating ruined Greek architectural elements, signed "T. Campjola" and dated ?1916, raised on orange marble plinth.

H: 19, W: 17 1/2, D: 7 in.
