Lot Description

Impressive lady's platinum and diamond dinner ring

10.8 carat modified Asscher cut colorless, Type IIa diamond, framed on either side by a crescent shaped diamond, approximately .60 carats. Accompanied by a supplemental letter from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamond has been determined to be a Type IIa diamond. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure and often have exceptional optical transparency, and considered to be of the top 2% in the diamond market. Typically these diamonds originated from India (particularly the Golconda region) but have since been recovered in all major diamond-producing regions of the world. Examples of famous gem diamonds, the 45.52 Hope and the 105.60 carat Koh-i-noor.
