19th Century Color Plate Books on Costume: Costume of the Russian Empire. London: E. Harding, 1803. Folio, modern cloth. With hand-colored half-title and 73 hand-colored plates; perforated library stamps to title page and every plate, scattered light to moderate foxing. * (Dalvimart, Octavian, illus.) The Costume of Turkey. London: William Miller, 1804 [but circa 1820]. Folio, orig. gilt decorated morocco, gilt-lettered & decorated spine; extremities rubbed and worn, joints rubbed and frayed, surface scuffed. With 60 hand-colored plates; each with a perforated library stamp, front bd and front matter loose from text block. Scattered foxing and some staining, mostly to front matter - majority of plates clean, save for perforated stamps. * Costumes Civils & Militaires de la Monarchie Francaise. [Paris], [c1820]. 2 vols only [of 4 vols] Both folio, vol. 2 with orig. gilt-lettered red bds; extremities very worn, joints beginning to separate. With 53 hand-colored plates; perforated library stamps to plates, plate 350 trimmed, plates 357 and 353 with tears aftecting images. Hinges stressed, scattered foxing and library markings throughout. Other vol. in later library binding; scuffed and stained. With 56 hand-colored plates & hand-colored title page; repair to title page, bound out of order, perforated library plates affecting all plates. * Jacquemin, R. Histoire Generale Du Costume. Paris: Librairie, [1879]. Folio, 1/2 morocco & marbled bds; extremities scuffed. Shaken. Color plates. Front matter toned, ink library stamps to each plate. Sold with all faults.
