Lot Description

Large and impressive French Louis XV style gilt bronze mantle clock 19th century

Cast to show a bearded Bacchus reclining against a lyre, holding a kylix into which a putto pours wine from a ewer, to his left Cupid strums the lyre, all upon a naturalistic rocky base, above a circular white enameled dial with Roman numerals, flanked by rocaille scrolls, above a laurel cast edge, raised on acanthus scroll feet.
