Pair of Chippendale shell-carved mahogany side chairs philadelphia, pa, circa 1770
Each with a beaded, serpentine crestrail centering a carved shell above a pierced urn form splat, on molded trapezoidal seat and shell-carved cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet. One chair with handwritten paper label, "Parlor chair of great grand father Elihia (sic) Etting, York, Pa."
