Lot Description

Louis XV gilt bronze mounted marquetry encoignure mid 18th century, stamped rvlc for roger vandercruse, called la croix

The triangular shaped Breche de Benou marble top over a bowed door inlaid with a musical trophy in a parquetry field, flanked by side panels of diaper pattern and floral marquetry with gilt bronze corner mounts, raised on short cabriole legs mounted with foliate sabots, stamped RVLC top right corner; the underside stamped EHB for the 19th century English French furniture dealer Edward Holmes Baldock.

Note: Roger Vandercruse, maitre in 1755.
