Lot Description

1 piece.

1 piece.
Autograph Letter Signed. Wagner, Richard. Lucerne, Aug. 2nd, [18]68. 1 p., 8vo. To Bronsaart, the head of the Munich Theatre: "...I only deem myself unable personally to undertake the cuts in my work, which, due to the frailty of the world and the theatres therein you may consider necessary. I would much prefer, if precisely you, who - as Schott informed me to my pleasure - would take the opportunity to think of such cuts, since you are already occupied with the completion of the piano reduction without words..." [translated from the German]. Framed (floating) with addressed envelope & portrait.
From the Estate of Margaret Harshaw, soprano with the Metropolitan Opera.
