Single shot muzzle loading matchlock rifle with flip up rear aperture sight and sling rings on the left side. The touch hole mounts a swinging cover with geometric pattern engraved into it. Further Geometric scroll adorns all the metal components including the copper bands supporting the rear portion of the stock, and the five barrel bands. The wrist has been decorated with lightly engraved silver plates styled after assortments of cannons, drums, spears, axes, and horns. Carved bone panels have been tacked onto the butt and feature further light geometric scrollwork. The varied mountings and materials used to decorate this firearm suggest it was decorated and repaired over time by multiple owners.
