Single action percussion revolver with smooth round five chambered cylinder, ten stop notches, hammer nose notched rear sight and German silver blade front sight. Barrel weakly marked in a single lines:  MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. NEW YORK. Cylinder with PATENTED DEC 27, 1859 marking. Matching serial numbers on the bottom of the barrel, frame, triggerguard, butt, on the cylinder arbor and rear face of the cylinder. The loading lever is not numbered. No cones (nipples) are present in the cylinder.
