Lot Description
A San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIV Champions Ring Presented to Scout Neil Schmidt With Original Presentation Case
Known as the NFL's team of the decade in the 1980s, the San Francisco 49ers' run of dominance culminated in their fourth Super Bowl championship with a 55-10 thrashing of the Denver Broncos. The dominating performance remains the most lopsided victory in Super Bowl history.
Commemorating the monumental achievement is this spectacular ring crafted by Jostens and issued to a man integral in the forming one of the game's most storied teams — longtime scout Neil Schmidt.
Recognizing Schmidt's important role, the ring's craftsmanship is identical to player models. The ring's face is adorned with genuine diamonds, with four larger football-shaped stones representing the four Lombardi Trophies earned in the 1980s.
Raised text at the edges record the four championship seasons along with the words "Forty Niners." The left shank finds four Lombardi Trophies in miniature framed between "Schmidt" and "San Francisco 17-2." The right shank features the logo of Super Bowl XXIV with the text "88 Back to Back 89" and the game's lopsided score.
Stamp: 10K JOSTENS
Gross weight: 30.00 dwt.
