Considered the earliest full release from Star in the basketball card landscape, the 1983-84 Star set was offered by mail order in bagged team sets. It is speculated that only 5,000 of each team set were manufactured with the production numbers lower for teams early in run due to production issues.

The 1983-84 Star set features the first cards of many greats to ever step foot on the hardwood including James Worthy, Ralph Sampson, Isiah Thomas, Clyde Drexler and Dominique Wilkins. The complete set totals 275 with all teams represented in their original bags as issued by Star.

All bags are factory sealed with the exception of the Detroit Pistons set which is unsealed with all original cards intact including the Isiah Thomas rookie card.
