[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 18 ambrotypes and tintypes of children, many featuring fine hand tinting.
Sixth plate oval ambrotype portrait of a girl with curled locks, wearing a blue-tinted dress and holding a wide-brim straw hat in her lap. (Some surface abrasions not appearing to affect subject.) Housed in an oval green velvet frame (push-button missing, though case still opens and closes). -- Sixth plate ambrotype featuring 2 young girls posed on either side of a table, one wearing an off-the-shoulder dress and facing the camera, the other with curled locks and facing away from the camera. Pink hand tinting present in first girl's dress and table cloth. (Some haloing, chemical deterioration, darkening; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case. -- Quarter plate tintype featuring a young girl with curled hair seated in a wooden hair and wearing a white dress, holding a straw hat with hand-tinted floral and fabric details. (Minor imperfections; partially resealed.) Housed in a figural Union case (nicking). -- And 16 more, including one loose half/whole plate tintype, 3 quarter plate ambrotypes, 2 quarter plate tintypes, 4 sixth plate ambrotypes, 3 sixth plate tintypes, and 2 ninth plate ambrotypes. Some without full cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 18 assorted ambrotypes and tintypes of children.
