[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 14 half plate and quarter plate daguerreotypes featuring women and children.
Half plate bust portrait of a lovely lady wearing an ornate cameo brooch and looking off-camera. (Tarnishing to edges, dust particles and some minor surface imperfections.) Housed in a figural Union case without velvet pad. Mat stamped "HIGGINS." -- Half plate seated portrait of an extremely aged woman wearing a bonnet and quilted shawl, identified as "Aunt Tempest Miller" on piece of woven tape affixed to satin pad. (Tarnishing to edges, few surface imperfections/spotting, oxidation to mat.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case. -- and 12 others, including 2 half plate examples and 10 quarter plate examples. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 14 half and quarter plate daguerreotypes featuring women.
