Striking portrait of a junior grade officer of the Pioneer Corps. He sits on the end of what appears to be a wooden bench, his arms crossed and his slouch hat tilted to one side. His Pioneer Corps crossed axe insignia and M1851 sword belt plate are both highly visible.
