[AFRICAN AMERICANA - EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Happy New Year. CDV featuring African American subject. 1877.
CDV on cardstock mount providing outdoor view of a carriage with "Happy New Year / 1877" painted on the side in addition to the names "Chas. Clark, E.F. Beaupre, J.R. Coulter, and J.M. Conway." A Caucasian coachman is seated at the front with reins in hand, while a young African American male subject, possibly a footman, stands at the back of the carriage. Uncredited (toning, overall very good condition).
