[ENSLAVEMENT & ABOLITION]. Manuscript deed of manumission for an enslaved individual named Will. Washington County, [MD], 21 November 1796.
One page, 8 x 10 3/4 in., folds with some small separations, toning, chipping to edges. Docketing to verso.
Deed outlines the manumission of a man named Will. In part: Know all men be these presents that I David Funk do hereby manumit and set free Negroe [sic] Will heretofore my property, and release all Interest and title which I have to the said Slave." Signed and sealed by David Funk and countersigned by Jacob Schnebly, likely as Justice of the Peace.
