GREENE, William Thomas. Parrots in Captivity. London: George Bell and Sons, 1884-1887.
3 volumes (of 4, lacking vol. 4 as often), 8vo. 81 wood-engraved plates printed in colors and finished by hand, many heightened in gum arabic. (Hinges tender or slightly starting, few plates sprung in vol. I,) Original gilt-stamped green cloth (some stains or spotting to covers, light rubbing at fore-corners). Provenance: Unidentified ownership signature dated 1928.
FIRST EDITION, lacking the rare fourth volume, printed in 1888, as often. Nissen IVB 860; Wood, p. 563; Zimmer, p. 575.
