8vo. (A few short marginal tears.) Original green cloth lettered in blind and gilt, fore-edge uncut and partially unopened (very light wear to extremities); in unrestored unclipped dust jacket (some minor chipping and creasing to edges with a few short tears, slight soiling).

FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, American Issue, without the Scribner's seal on the copyright page. Fitzgerald's second novel, The Beautiful and the Damned, was believed to be based on his relationship with Zelda and was first serialized in Metropolitan Magazine from September 1921 to March 1922.
