Lot Description
** Siamese Type 46/66 Mauser Rifle
World War II
8x52mmR. 29" barrel length. SN: 35073. Blued metal finish overall set in a Walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting adjustable rear notch and inverted-V front sights. Bolt action repeating rifle fed by an internal box magazine featuring a sliding dustcover. Item exhibits standard Siamese markings including the {Emblem of Thailand} to the top of the receiver, and standard model markings. Rear sight shows the cut range markings indicating this rifle was converted to fire the 8x52mmR cartridge, which replaced the 8x50mmR chambering in service. Item shows the standard {Koshikawa Arsenal} stacked cannonball marking, and mounts a trapdoor buttplate. The tab on the trapdoor to butt appears to have been brass brazed into place. Some duct tape applied beneath handguard to shim it.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
