** Steyr-Mannlicher Model 1895 Carbine
World War II
8x56mmR. 19" barrel length. SN: 5725R. Blued metal finish with polished bolt components set in a walnut semi-pistol grip stock with full length upper handguard. Straight pull bolt action rifle fed by an internal magazine charged by en-bloc clips. The receiver is struck {Austrian Eagle}/STEYR/M.95 with the barrel shank displaying a further {Austrian Eagle}, 33 date code, and an S stamp. Port for the sling loop on toe has been filled in with a wood shim with sling swivels now attached at the left wrist and left forend at lower barrel band. The forend features a bayonet lug. Importer mark at forward barrel reads M95 AUSTRIA 8X56R/C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT.
