Lot Description
** Walther P.38 byf Code Soviet Captured and Reblued
World War II
9mm Para. 4.9" barrel length. SN: 3873y. Soviet arsenal reblued finish overall mounting brown synthetic stocks. Short recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Left slide is struck with the P.38 model marking followed by byf factory code indicating the handgun was manufactured by the Mauser factory. Waffenampt markings on the right slide were removed during refinish. Further markings include {Eagle/WaA135} Waffenampt marking to the left frame, left barrel, and right locking block. WWII German Eagle acceptance proof markings remain on the left barrel and locking block. Serial numbers match on all major components. The left frame shows an X marking typical of Soviet captured firearms, along with a dark dipped blue finish common to Soviet arsenal refinished arms. An importer mark in the rear frame reads NHM CO/SACCA/9MM GERMANY. Comes with an unmarked magazine that features a roughly cut replacement floorplate that projects forward of the butt when inserted fully.
