Barrels are engraved with the maker marking below the handguard JOSEF-WINKLER-FERLACH-MADE IN AUSTRIA with both barrels displaying B'O'HLER-BLITZ-STAHL followed by the gauge and chamber length markings. Full length matted barrel rib is engraved CUSTOM BUILT BY QUAILE & DONALDSON and features a dovetailed rear notch and front blade sights. The Austrian nitro firing proof NPF is visible on the barrel flats and watertables followed by the Austrian {Eagle} proof marking. The date code 4121-62 on the barrels and watertables indicates this firearm was proof tested in 1962. Left sideplate is engraved with a scene of a Quail emerging from the brush below the watertable while a male pheasant engages in courtship ritual with a female below the lever. Right sideplate engraved with a fox chasing a hare along the sideplate as two quail scatter. The barrel fences, lower frame, triggerguard, and rear edges of the barrels show spiral scroll engraving with a {Golden Quail} on the pistol grip cap. The interior surface of the forend iron is jeweled.
